Jet lag is a real struggle, it has taken me a week to get back into my routine but I am starting to feel normal again. The last week at work was hectic with trying to get back into the swing of things and catch up on the latest drama. I spent the weekend sorting paperwork, relaxing and getting myself psyched up for the next 6 months leading up to the London Marathon. Being successful in your weight loss and lifestyle change management process does not come easy. The magic weight loss and lifestyle change fairy does not turn up in the middle of the night, wave their magic wand and in a cloud of smoke you instantly arrive at where you want to be. It takes hard work, dedication and unrelenting pursuit of your end goal. This is not going to happen overnight but if you keep focused and stay positive whatever you want is achievable. The only person that can prevent your success is you. In the last 3 and a bit months I have dropped a significant amount of weight and turned my lifestyle on its head so now I don’t worry about keeling over with a massive heart attack. But this didn’t just happen, I have worked bloody hard for it and it has taken a huge amount of self discipline. This is just the beginning however. I have a lifetime of hard work ahead of me. What I want is to be able to look back at my life and think to myself, ‘you know what Donnelly, that was bloody good!’ I don’t want to have any regrets or opportunities that I missed out on because my weight and lifestyle wouldn’t allow it.
I have 6 months to prepare myself for the biggest goal in my life so far. That is daunting yet incredibly motivating. All I have to do is follow the plan. Follow the plan and execute it right and I will succeed. I have identified what I want, now I am going out and getting it.
This weekend was definitely the calm before the storm, I thought it was tough up to now…but the hard work has barely begun.
