Day 48 & 49 – Quality Down Time

I have spoken before about the need for rest, relaxation and management of stress. This weekend I decided that I would take extra time to make sure that I got the required rest I need to help springboard me into next week. On Saturday I decided to play golf at Zhailjau which is located at the foot of the mountains in Almaty. It is a great place to get away, have a nice stroll in the sun and play some sport. Raushana joined me in walking around the course, it was great to spend some time away from the city with each other. Sunday was also great, movies and relaxing in the apartment. Sometimes it is the small things which you appreciate most and it is imperative that you recharge your batteries at the weekend ready to take on the working week to come. It is easy to get wrapped up in the stress of life and forget that in all the hustle and bustle there is a need to appreciate what you have and the people that share your life with you. It has been a good weekend πŸ™‚

I am still 100% on track, the finishing line for phase 1 is in sight and I am very much looking forward to entering phase 2 and kicking my training up a gear!

  1. There is no doubt everyone needs to “get away from it all” especially those of us working on losing weight. We took a friend out for dinner and a movie for his birthday yesterday, and we had a great time. I choose a salad for dinner and protein for the appetizer to keep myself on track.

    • Good work keeping yourself on track – there is always a way around each potential issue, we just have to find it, plan and then execute πŸ™‚

  2. I delight in your mission and goals to live healthy and happy. There’s so much that goes into maintenance of any ideal weight. Your challenges are specific and universal at the same time. Thanks for liking my blog and do contact me if ever you seek a sounding board. Have a great day and live the life you envision!

  3. Hi, I love your blog. You’ve got great focus, which I sadly lack. I have been bigger in my time (I’m a bit of a yo-yo) and when people start to notice the change in you (both mentally and physically) I find it even more motivational. Enjoy the journey to a new you.

    • I had a great time even though the golf course kicked my behind in many places! Although it was easier for me to swing with less of a belly in the way!
